Whitsundays with Momo!!!

So the last weekend momo was in Australia we went on sail boat for 2 nights and 3 days in Whitsundays which is the southern most part of the Great Barrier Reef.  The boat fit 28 people not including 3 instructors.  It ended up not being what we expected so much... mom ended up being the oldest by about 30 years... my bad... I knew there would be young people that would do a lot of drinking but I didn't think she would be the only one her age. Although she did meet a lot of people that she found very interesting. Most of the people on the boat were 19-27 year olds that were just traveling for fun, and pretty much said they had no money to do it but did it anyway, momo was amazed by this of course. We did have absolutely gorgeous weather!! Clear blue skies all three days! We also went snorkeling which was pretty but we both agreed we saw prettier coral in Mexico. We also saw the most amazing stars I have ever seen! At least 3 shooting stars a night! I thought the trip was pretty awesome, but I think momo would have liked something else instead... xx momo! love you!
No worries :)

My beautiful stinger suit!

Where we ate for 3 days! Such good meals!!!

Top bunk is where I slept for 2 nights... very tight space. Momo was suppose to sleep there but she wasn't to excited about sleeping on a top bunk with the roof real close to our face. So momo slept on the deck... picture below.

Frasier Island!

Went to Frasier Island for 3 nights which is the biggest sand island in the world and it was awesome! There are only 3 rocks on the entire island, other than that it is all sand. There were huge sand hills as seen below that some people would roll down until they went into the water. The water was sooo clear it was the bluest water I've ever seen.  To get to all the different lakes and sights we had to ride in a bus that was built by the military. It was the most bumpy but fun ride ever. It felt like we were going to tip over every time. Our driver was an awesome old guy that looked like he was the old white hair guy from Jurassic Park.

The ship wreck was pretty awesome to see. Its been there for hundreds of years... I forget the whole story with it though.... Also saw a wild dingo! It was about 50 yards from me! A dingo is a wild dog, and they are really mean and have ate children... kind of creepy. But they look like normal dogs you could have as pets! Anyways they are all over the island and they warn you about them every where. All in all it was a great trip. Would definitely go there again!
Me and these huge sand dunes on the island!

Me at one of the GORGEOUS lake on the island! They were crystal clear! Wish we had these in MN!

A ship wreck on the island.

The whole Island was covered in sand!! It looked like a desert in some places!

Jamie and I jumping in another gorgeous lake!

I am ducking for some scary flying thing, and Jamie is looking at me like "what the heck is wrong with you?" Some important rock is behind us... but i forget what... sorry :)

Champagne lake I want to say is what this is called... It was really sweet.

Little Mermaid pose!

MOMO IN SYDNEY!!

Here are a few pictures of mom and me in Sydney.  Her plane got cancelled a whole day so we only had one whole day in sydney and 2 nights. We did the sydney bridge climb on Saturday morning at 7:40 am. It was gorgeous in the morning and it was something different so I really enjoyed it! I think momo did too! After the bridge climb we walked around the Sydney Harbour and went to the Opera House. Then we went to dinner and had KANGAROO! It was really good! Better than steak! :) The next morning we had a 12 hour train ride back to Lismore. Momo stayed in Lismore for three nights while I went to Frasier Island with a group from school. Next blog will be about Frasier Island!

Crazy guy on street that entertained us for an hour. He ate one of those long balloons! it was nuts!
This guy scared the crap out of me in front of about 50 people. I went over to him to take a picture with him and he moved and looked right at me. Of course I jumped 30 feet in the air...

AFL football game!

We got a bus together to go up to Brisbane to go to an AFL football game. Now someone told me that this was just like American football except that they don't were pads. umm yah nothing like american football! The rules are crazy and the entire game I had to ask a million questions about it. Still don't understand it.. The only way to score was by kicking it through the posts... I don't know thats about all I got from it. It was really cool to go to though. The stadium was huge and we had great seats.  It was a ton of fun! This sport isn't as physical as footy aka rugby... but I will be going to a rugby game in a few weeks so that should be nuts!! Some pictures below of the AFL game!

Field Trip to Nimbin!

So it's been awhile since I wrote on this... sorry! I have finally had to actually start doing assignments... no fun doing homework in Australia! Well about 2 weeks ago I got to go on a field trip to Nimbin. It's a town about an hour and a half away from Lismore and it is much different! Every time I ever heard about Nimbin all I heard was that it is a huge drug town. Weed is not legal in Australia, but in Nimbin its pretty much legal. So we got there and in the first 15 minutes we got asked if we wanted to buy weed.  This town pretty much makes there money off of weed and the group I was with got asked about 7 times within 4 hours if we wanted to by weed. It was unreal. Crack heads everywhere pretty much. They were very nice people but very different... As you can see from the pictures below weed is very important to these people!
Freakin Nimbin

All of this is in the Nimbin museum. Just a litle hut pretty much with all this crap.
